2006 S-80 Front Axels. How to tell Viscous Or Not?

I have a 2006 S80 5T that needs front axels. Its at 182K and there is a lot of front end vibration when going up hills and so on. When I bought the last new tires a month ago, the tire place told me that they needed to be replaced. Short of spending 2K on the actual Volvo parts, I am going to switch them out myself with a friends help who has access to a lift, and I am either going to get used OEM and have them rebuilt first, or buy the new less expensive replacement axels from Euro Parts. I'd just like to get a couple more years out of the car since everything on it works and the interior and body are still really nice... and it has no trouble passing emissions. The one thing I am confused on is the viscous and non viscous axels. How does one tell which axels the car takes without having my mechanic have to put it up on a lift? I can not fit under the car to take a look... Are the viscous axels only used on the AWD versions? I had a Land Rover some years ago that had a viscous coupling, but it was placed in the drive shaft.

Thanks!
