2013 C30 Sensor Identification
Hey Volvo Community!
I'm new to this forum and wanted to see if I can get some help identifying the sensor on the back of the rear view mirror. I was under the assumption that this is some sort of light sensor for the automatic headlights but figured I'd ask.I couldn't find anything in the owner's manual that helps and I even called the local Volvo dealer here and was told that it was part of the "city safety system". I was told that it is a forward collision avoidance sensor. However, I do not think the car is equipped with forward collision avoidance. The reason I ask, is because I intend to install a dash cam on the windshield and was worried that placing one forward of this sensor may disrupt this sensor's operation. This is a two part question I guess. Firstly, can anyone identify the sensor? And secondly, will placing a dash cam on the windshield in front of it hinder its operation? Thanks for any help I can get. Vehicle: 2013 Volvo C30R T5 Polestar https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/volvofo...c26efedec2.jpg |
I assume it's a light sensor for the auto dim mirror. Do you have an auto dimming mirror? It is not for any sort of collision avoidance.
