BEST VOLVO EVER?
 

Just curious to see what everyone's answer will be as to the best / their favorite Volvo ever made? Performance wise, luxury, whatever you like. Just trying to stir-up some conversation!

As far as maintenance, reliability and ease of working on the car, the 240 has to take the trophy from what I have heard. As far as luxury and comfort my daughter's 99 S80 can not be beat, but the car needs expensive work all the time and not stuff you can do eaisly yourself. I also think her S80 T6 might be faster than my 850 R's. As far as looks go, I like my 850 R's best. The C70 convertible is pretty nice looking too though. Probably going to own one of them some day. I want a HPT five speed C70 convertible, but hard as hell to find.

Well lets do this then.

V70R and or S70R for the 70 series models.

S60R for the 60 series models.

850 T5R and R wagon and sedan for the 850 models.

Those are my fav. Volvo's.

Great answers everyone! I know this is a very broad question and everyone has their own opinions. Again, myself being new to Volvo I was just seeing what everyone liked and stirring up some convo :)

unless its a fox body or your BOOST12 you dont have a chance lol

if you dont know BOOST12, hes from chi-town racing and drives the fastest new body mustang in the world right now. thats street legal i should say. but still never gets off that trailer till its at the track

My first car was a '70 Chevelle SS w/402that my dad bought new and handed down to me. It had 70's on the front and I remember wanting to get some Mickey Thompson50's for the rear.I gotthem and they scraped like hell.[:@]Great car (but too much power for a teenager). Over the years with a family to support Inever had much money so Iwould buy nice older cars that I wanted. '77 Corvette, '80 Porsche911SC,a couple of Saabs, '89 900SPGTurbo, '97 9000AeroTurbo and now my recently aquired '95 Volvo 850 Turbo (at least the Swedish got Volvo right!!!).

How about a Slut Racing twin turbo Cobra? I gotcha boyz. Hi I have been driving the 240 for 20+++++ years. I luuuuuv 240's. However, I can't spend my time anymore at the mechanics. I see him more often than my relatives. Can anyone recommend a new volvo? Can anyone tell me why I shouldn't pursue subaru, toyota etc?

My intro to Volvos was a 240 - not mine but helping a relative out and was impressed with the quality and ease of working on it. but the are all very old now. Unfortunately, Volvo makes a large variety of new cars and you give little to go on - wagon or sedan? SUV? Grocery getter or road car? How about a drop top?

Why you shouldn't pursue a Subaru? Ugliest cars ever made. EVER.
Toyota? nice cars, but they are not a Volvo- drive them back to back and see what you think. (Though the Avalon did tempt me before I got my S80)

i work for toyota. they are all boring. no fun at all.
even the XRS 5 speed and scion TC 6-speeds are lacking compared to my 850 and its not even a fast one (awd)

I actually loved my 86 744GLE Ambassador's Special (it literally was an Ambassador's car, had the Ambassador's Seal on it too)

If they still made the 850 Style I would have bought another one, but they don't and none of the new models apppealed to me or, more importantly, my wife. When we test drove the BMW 330xi we loved it and ended up buying one. That was after 25 years of nothing but Volvo cars. When I have to quit driving my T5R, I have no idea what I will buy.
