Black box?????

Is it possible to find out how many km a Volvo v70 (year 2000) has been driving for real
-I am not sure that I can trust what is standing on the daschboard:)

Is there a "black box" that can tell -or other possibilities?

Thank you!

I can do a warranty inquiry.I can see the date and mileage of some of the repairs made under warranty.I need the year, model and last 6 of the VIN.

For some reason it wont pick up on the chassis code and VIN.It says Vehicle not found.Kinda odd....?

You can have the Dealer Scan the Mileage via the OBD2 port.

With the digital dashes I have never seen any way to make it different. Once the milage is burn't in there it cannot be changed.

Okay!
When I ask, it is because it is a bit "funny" to buy cars here -some times it is with out The Book -so I cant Follow the cars story. And there are people that offers their help on internet to "adjust" the mileage:)

I am sure the milage on my S70 is NOT correct. I believe the people the sold it to me CHANGED THE DASH or GUAGE to fix a problem (wink wink). It shows like 88,000 but the last known warranty repair was at 114,000 in 2005.

Is there a way that I can check a '98 S70? Will this work if the ECU was replaced?

Blownby May 14, 2009 08:51 AM

The only way to get a dash with different mileage is through a junk yard.If you order one from the dealer its a pretty lengthy process and alot of forms to fill out so they are correct in mileage.

The milage on the 98 is pulled through the cluster so if they changed it then it will show what the cluster says or close to it.

I believe this one was pulled from a junk yard.
