Did I fry my stereo wiring?? What did I do?? HELP!!

A few weeks ago I bought an aftermarket stereo for my 1996 960. I finally had a day off work, and decided to try to put it in today, since I have put several in other vehicles in the past. I pulled the factory CD player, and checked to be sure I had the right wiring harness that I bought at Custom Sounds by plugging it into my car. I completely forgot that my keys were in the ACC position, and I heard a very quiet clicking sound when I'm guessing two wires touched. I didnt think much of it until it came time to plug in the Sony radio and all it did was make a sound like it was ejecting a CD..no lights, no music, just that sound. I thought maybe I had wired it wrong and decided just to put the factory SC 816 back in for the time being, and now its not working! The red security light blinks, but it doesnt have the CODE prompt and nothing happens when I press power. What did I do, and how do I fix it??

Have you checked the fuses?

I checked the fuse on the dash panel and in the back of the radio..they both appear to be fine, which is why I'm beginning to worry! I have one more OEM Volvo radio that I'm going to try today and see if it works..if that doesnt work, I think I may have trouble.

On the 740's, there are several inline fuses behind the dash, I know for sure at least one is for the power amp, others could well be for the stereo's constant power supply or switched power.

Regards, Andrew.
