KYB shocks are stiff
 

I got some non performance shocks for the rear of my 240 dl sedan. They are kind of stiff. If I got some normal ones(stock shocks) would they be significantly less stiff than the kyb's? The reason why I am asking is because I will have to spend the money all over again(the mechanic won't switch them out).

I'm guessing you're on the GR-2s/Excel-Gs? Yeah, they're a little stiffer than the Monroes but they should loosen up a bit for you. It's kind of tough putting a stiffer shock on the rear end if you don't do any other suspension stuff. Do have a sway bar on there?

I should know already but....what model Volvo are we talking about here?

How should I put some stiffer on it? My dad already taught me about this but now I messed every ideas on my mind.

well...the shocks alone aren't what makes your car stiff. Stiffer yes, but the real handling comes from the springs. The shocks main function is to smooth out the recoil during a spring decompression. Throw some aftermarket sport tuned springs in the mix.

And then add in IPD swaybars, for flatter conering at any speed!

Then after you mess around with springs and shocks/struts, and swaybars, then you can start messing around with chassie braces, and a solid panhard bar to keep the rearend fix around turns. But you still have the stock rubber bushings...you would want to replace those with poly, or if you want true preformance, you get some Spherical rod ends.
Then if you are still not convinced, get a full rollcage put in..... Then the car will be....:stiff:....solid.
