New to the site with Oil leak

I have a 2007 S60R. Noticed oil drops in my garage. Also notice my low oil pressure light would come on. I would add oil. Took it a Volvo mechanic. There is a an oil leak, waiting to hear what the options are if any. Is it possible for the oil to have leaked into the engine and caused damage? What would be the worse case scenario? Over 140K miles.

as long as you didn't drive an extended period with the oil light on, you should be ok. a bigger concern would be if you had the oil light on and the oil measured full. You didn't note how often you need to add oil. Worst case scenario #1 is a leak is a rear main seal which requires pulling the transmission. Worst case scenario #2 is you are leaking oil out of a VVT gear and it sprays oil on you timing belt which then fails and you need to replace all your exhaust valves. Since its in the shop already, this can be addressed by repairing the VVT and replacing the timing belt. The third scenario is you are leaking out of a cam shaft seal (either front or rear). The usual cause for this is a clogged PCV system which will need to be replaced then you can replace the seals (the front seals require removing the timing belt and VVT gears). The best case scenario is you're leaking out of the turbo oil return line gasket which is a $.99 part but can make a mess of the engine bay.
