Replacement ICM (LCD Screen) on XC70 2012 - Recoding ?

Hi all,
Please can anyone help steer me. The LCD display screen failed on my Volvo XC70. I ordered a replacement screen from a breakers yard, but when it powers up it shows the "Volvo" sign, then displays the AC controls, and shows details of trying to connect the previous car owners iPhone.
Then the screen just goes blank.

I've checked cables etc, and all looks good.
I saw somewhere that ICM screens could be locked to the original car. Do I need to get it recoded to work with my car?
If so, can anyone recommend the steps needed? Can I do it myself?? Should I order DICE etc?
Or would a specialist or Volvo themselves be able to help?
I'm concerned that if Volvo get involved, the costs will blow out way too much.
Thanks in advance all.
