S60 Transmission

I posted an issue I had with the S-60 auto transmission sticking in what seems to be high gear. I disconnected the battery, waited and re-hooked. It worked although the transmission warning light stayed on. Then, after sitting for a day or so, It did the same thing. It has 225K km and has not ever been flushed. Any chance this could be the problem? It's intermittent and could happen at any time. The fact that it will work at times makes me think it's not broken (?) Your comments are valued. Thanks and Merry Christmas

What year/model is your S60? any fault codes (may need a better scanner to check). Did you check fluid level? I've had my S40 downshift oddly on occasion and I simply do a shifter row (assuming its the PNP switch) and the problem goes away for another year... So with the engine off and the key in postion 2, run the shifter from P to Lo to P about 20x fast. Idea is this can clean the contacts in the PNP. Otherwise, you may want to do a drain/fill and inspect color of the fluid, any debris.

Is there any chance there is a button just behind the gear shift lever labelled "W" that is lit up? My dog likes to press the W button in my car and it makes for underwhelming acceleration off the line.
