SRS safety (and my stupidity)

Hey everyone, I just purchased some nice leather seat covers that match my interior. I guess its not a good idea to install them because I just thought about the SRS system and the airbag that comes out of side of the seat. Any chance someone might know if the seat air bag might be strong enough to rip through the covers in case of an accident? Also I know through reading the other threads that I have to go to the dealership to get that d@#n "SRS check" warning light of, that sucks. I was hopeing maybe someone might know a way to eliminate this warning by now.
Thanks!

RE: SRS safety (and my stupidity)

If you read your Owner's Manual, Volvo tell you not to install seat covers because of the seat air-bags. If you ignore Volvo's advice and have an accident with the seat covers installed-your Insurance Company is likely to find a way not to pay out. Your Insurance Company is far more experienced at getting out of paying than what you are to get them to pay.

Over to you.

You could check some local mechanic that service Volvo to clear the SRS check light for less money than the dealer.

RE: seat covers

So glad I checked this forum - thought that my C70 could use front seat covers, but didn't know where & what to get (hadn't seen seat covers in any Volvo accessory list.) I just found this under SRS safety - THANK YOU!!! (And I should probably read my manual more thoroughly!)
