My 1994 volvo 850 turbo is having a strange problem. When put in drive or reverse, the car feels like its going to stall, feels as if its lugging or in too high of a gear. However, car shifts through all gears (shifts 3 times). It had the orange transmission arrow flashing for a bit, but it went away and never came back. Car rattles pretty bad when im sitting at a light in gear, but when put into park idles fine. Any ideas ?

 

Have you checked the fluid level and done a color check?
