transmission oil cooler for towing

Hello,
I want to install a transmission cooler for towing. But my mechanic says that Volvo recommends a cooling fan instead. Does anyone know about this?

What are you planning on towing?

Volvo makes a really good Trans cooler in the Radiator.
Maybe a small fan.

Most don't need anything.
