I have a 2005 V50 fwd 2.4i. I am looking at purchasing a tent trailer with a unloaded weight of 1500lbs. The V50 manual states the maximum towing capacity is 1500 lbs. When I phoned a number of Volvo dealers and trailer shops they say that the V50 can tow up to 2000lbs. Can I safely tow this trailer loaded up to 2000lbs?

1500lbs is not much of a trailer for any vehicle. Make sure your hitch is rated to do it and you should be fine.
