Ok this is the third time over the years that my battery went dead. Not an issue if you can get a jump but I couldn't. The battery is located next to the spare in the back. Also the car is locked and the electric locks are obviously not working. There is no keyway in the tailgate to open it from the outside. My trusty old 740 tailgate often got stuck and I would have to open it from the inside, so in I climb over all of the stuff in the back only to discover that there is no handle on the inside. As you can imagine it is quite difficult to get the battery out and back over all of the stuff to get it out the door to put on charge. I have read that some models do have them. Has anyone put one in? Is it difficult? Costly?

 

Not to my knowledge. If you put the jumper stuff on the connections under the hood you should be able to activate the power locks.
