Vida 2014D and VXDIAG VCX Nano reads V50 (2012) but not V70 (2002)

My Vida 2014D software and VXDIAG VCX NANO interface cannot read some vehicles anymore. I used it successfully last summer for my two V70’s (2.4T, 2001 and 2002) but I no longer can read these vehicles. I’m still using the same laptop (Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit), software Vida 2014D, and reader VCX NANO.

The firmware and drivers of the VCX NANO-reader that plugs in to the OBD2-port in the car are the latest version. They were downloaded and installed via the latest version of VX Manager.

Vida 2014D is working and the reader (VCX NANO) is recognized in Vida.

When I tried to read a V50 from 2012, it worked perfectly. Vida was able to read VIN and fault codes as it should.

Read vehicle (under car profile) does not work for my old V70’s. It results in an error message, I think this is normal for Volvos older than 2004. But when I try to read my 2002 V70 and enter VIN-number, chassi number etc manually (the info is also saved in “last read vehicles” in Vida since I successfully read the vehicles in the summer) the diagnostics tab becomes clickable.

When I click diagnostics with everything connected and ignition in position II, Vida starts reading all the units but comes up with nothing. The reading is quick. No info about the car, no error message comes up. The battery indicator in Vida is orange and the status of the vehicle is offline. I have tried reading with key in position II both with the engine on and off.

Why can I read some vehicles successfully (V50 2012) but not others (V70 2001, V70 2002) with the exact same equipment and setup? Any ideas for solving this?
I'm thankful for any help.
