Default Volvo High Milage Club...

Here is a link to Volvo's High Milage Club. They also have a link to the Video that talks about Ivy's 2.7 million miles on his P1800.
http://www.volvocars.com/us/top/your...leageclub.aspx

Volvo use to give metal badges for cars that had over 100,000 miles on them. They gave a badge for every 100k. Then they scaled back to a badge at 100k, 250k, 500k, 750k, etc.. Now I don't think they give a badge at all. Maybe a certificate. I whish they would at least let you purchase the badge. I had several of them on my 740 and one on my 262c.

If you join the high milage club on the Volvo site they send you a certificate and a decal. I just signed up my '88 760 on there.

The high mileage club would probably have a lot more members if Volvo had used a different design for their odometers and a different supplier for that damn plastic gear...

I hear you there. I think resetting the trip causes fast failure. I spoke with a guy Sunday that had 324,000 on his yellow T-5R and his odometer was still clicking. He was not aware that Volvo's have a odometer problem.

I too think resetting trip meters can mess things up...particularly if the car is rolling. I replaced an odometer gear for the first time in my 240 years ago...the gear was softer than a pencil eraser. I literally wiped teeth off of the gear with a flick of my finger nail. Sad...
Here's Irv's car back in 2008...guess that's the last time I've seen it...

That's it. I guess the metal badges were costing Volvo to much.

I received my High Mileage Club stuff back from Volvo yesterday. This is what I got:

1. Letter
2. Certificate
3. Window sticker "100,000"
4. A 20% off (max $100) mail in rebate.

Well worth my time to complete the online form. I'm going to get the "R" spoiler and use the rebate to knock $65 off of the price. Sweet!!! I think it was cheaper to do the metal badges that give someone 20% off of parts and/or service.

once upon a time I had a '82 240 wagon and the odometer stopped at 645,398 miles. the clutch let go so I had it sitting in my yard waiting for me to fix it and my eldest son, on his 2 week anniversary of getting his license, smacked up the front end of my '87 240,( had 86k on it). I ended up taking the nose off of the '82 and putting it on the '87. sad day...

Man that's to cool. I believe that we help sell Volvo's by keeping these old Volvo's on the road & looking good. I hope to put 500,000 on the wagon we just got. Most of them really are good cars.
