Volvo s60R Year round vehicle for New England?

Hello, Became a member today. Had my heart set on a new S60R., but folks have been telling me its the wrong car for New England, CONNECTICUT,. I'm told S60R tires and rims might not hold up under winter conditions and also our famous POTHOLES. Have driven the car and think its great, but I don't want to be spending alot of money for replacement rims and tires. Anyone drive an R year round in a snow climate? Thanks

Its not bad, as long as u get rid of the summer tires and get high perf all-season tires. And our roads suck big-time in S/E PA. Ive got 18's with Pirelli P-Zero Nero (M&S)

Thanks for the input. Yes I guess the R is doable as long as you go w/winter tires. Any problem with low ground clearance up front? Many of the R's I see have some sort of damage below the front bumper?;)

I have the factory body kit, and it can be a prob. When pulling into parking lots, I'll find a diff entrance if it looks bad. I had a lowered sports car before, so Im used to it.

And be careful pulling into parking spots so u dont hit the curb. Either that or back-in;)
