Volvo v40 Crankshaft

Apparently I need a new crankshaft, and it may take as long as 8 weeks to source one. It is being covered by warranty, so I don’t think they are scouring junk yards. Any idea why it will take so long?

what year? try searching car-part.com for used short blocks.
