Stock Exhaust piping diameter
 

What is the stock piping diam. on a 98 s70 GLT? I dont want to do a full cat back system, I just want to replace that "muffler box" with a borla muffler. Can I buy the turbo series muffler online, and just have an exhaust shop weld it on?

Why do you want to do something half assed?

1. You wont gain any performance.

2. You will only gain sound.

Maybe all you want is sound, then go ahead, but if you want performance then do it right.

2.25"-2.5" I would say is the OEM piping, I also suggest getting under the car after it has been sitting for awhile and measure it with a tape measure. So you know for sure what size it is.

S70, that is exactly the response I was looking for, and I'm not being sarcastic! So what system do you recommend? I have the EST intake on, and it sounds great when I blowoff, not to mention I gained a few MPG, but I'm really looking for that deepM3 stylesound, and if a few ponies get thrown in with it, then why not!

Look at the various systems available from EST, IPD USA, VIVA PERFORMANCE.

Or have a local muffler shop fab you a system.

Is your GLT turboed?

Ok...

2.5" mandrel bent catback system witha free flowing muffler such as BORLA or Magnaflow. That is what I recommend if you go custom. Add a hi-flow CAT into that as well.

Also I recommend doing a 3" mandrel bent downpipe as well.
