new to Volvo - bought a company car XC90 2011, well taken care of, and had a few issues, one being battery drain, and couldnt find sirius ID. Your response from a few years back on this forum solved both issues!!! update the RDAR (an you mentioned the battery would drain if car not used often enough due to Sirius searching for service)
THANKS for your expert feedback - updated Rdar today and expect both issues to be solved - Thanks you again!

The above link is from google when I typed in " el power system service required"

Hey, I have a question. My vovlo has a message saying el power system service required, I took it to a shop they checked my alternator and it was fine but my battery was low so we added water and a few days later on the freeway car lost all power, then shut down I put in a large battery for a boat and it got me home. I am going to have the alternator checked again because it is out of the car now and I bought a new battery. I have no idea what is wrong with the car but its one problem after another. The car is almost dieing out and lights going dim and radio and headlights shut off, when I turned on the hazards the car got a little more power but eventually just shut down. Any ideas what to do? The check engine light did come on but then went off and hasnt reappeared.

Thanks for your response Damien. When you reffered to the TCM, did thi mean "transmission control module?"

Damien. I saw that you answered a post about a guy losing all of the oil in his V50. You said that you had changed the engine in a couple of those kinds of cars. I just bought an 2006 S40 2.4i that has a toasted engine in it. I want to pull it and put in another but am a bit overwhelmed by the prospect of it all. Ever put down any instructions or any pictures of the process. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Damien

Last summer you responded to a post "2009 Left stranded". I recently got/have a similar error code pointing to the anti tamper radiator sensor, u028600 if I recall correctly. Spoke to the dealer and they're already talking radiator replacement, $1k, etc. Noted your post it might be a software ECM software issue. Any further insight? BTW. 2010 V70, 35k miles, well maintained. Brought it to my local auto shop to get code readout. Did electrical checkout, everything was fine...alternator, etc. did replace battery for it was 4 years old, figured why not if it solves issue. He cleared code, but the came back day later. Car not exhibiting any issues other than code coming up as compared to that original stranded post. Txs David
