1996 850glt, 2006 v70r

I own two antique Jaguars, a '53 XK120 and 1955 MVIIM. Time flies, and I'm wondering if my 2 family cars are becoming collector cars also. Both were purchased new overseas in US spec. My wife loves her "R" model automatic wagon and won't part with it. My daily driver is a 4-door 5-spd 850 GLT which I ordered with a "sports suspension" package in England. That option wasn't available in the States. Both are rust and accident free 200,000 mi. cars . The 850 has original exhaust, clutch, and has never had engine work. We mount Michelin MXV Rs on both cars. I think the V70R is holding it's value reasonably well, but has the value of my 850 bottomed out? I could never replace it's sportiness, comfort, and utility for today's book value. Any comments appreciated.

Yes I don't think there's much that's going to change over time regarding the value of the car - its probably worth 1000-1200 on a trade in - assuming its in very good condition and a private sale may net you 1500-2000. There's plenty of 850s in good condition selling in the 1000 to 1500 range with some dealers asking 2000 or more for a cherry model. I don't think those numbers will go down significantly over the next few years. R models on the other hand have a cachet value as they are rarer than say a T5. The deal there is to find somebody looking for an R...
