About To Take Delivery of a 96 850 Turbo Wagen
The dealer is giving it a pretty clean bill of health and I'm about to leave on a 1000 mi trip!
What is a good way to add a permanant cigarette outlet? I see in the manual there is an accessory connection provided on the drivers side. |
By "permanent" did you mean "permanently on?" That is the only way I could make sense out of it.

Did you look in the back of the console? It seems like some cars have a 2nd one for back seat passengers and some don't. Maybe it was the optional "smoker's group" or something, I don't know.
You can certainly buy more cigar lighters, but finding a place to mount one is a problem. |
Thanks, any smokers in the back were provided with an ash tray but no lighter, although there are a couple spaces at the ash tray one would fit. I guess that was the era the cancer warnings on cigarettes were strengthened and the price skyrocketed so was becoming less of a priority. Ashtrays have never been used fortunately. So AutoZone sells recessed cigarette outlets I can find a place for. It's just a matter of wiring. The spare accessory outlet was provided for that sort of thing will check it for power when I am done travelling. Taking it 1000 miles Saturday! Alternatively they make piggyback fuse outlets to gang it with the other lighter, but would have to get through the firewall and it looks pretty tight.
