FNG on deck.
Hello everyone,
Newer to the boards, this is the first Volvo that I have ever owned and I wanted to thank everyone for the help that you have provided to me so far. My ride is a '96 850 T-5 sedan that I saved from the salvage yard, and am getting back to prime condition. The primary issue that the previous owner had was a massive oil leak that he didn't want to try to track down so he sold it to me for a song. It was the oil return seal from the turbo...I haven't had the heart to tell him that it was a $5 part and 20 minutes to fix. His loss was definately my gain. I'll post up a photo or 2 soon. -Semper Fi |

And be sure to replace the timing belt & its pulleys & tensioner. I would give it a full tune-up as well.

RE: FNG on deck.
Timing belt, pulleys, (tensioner was still in good shape), full tune, both O2 sensors (some nit-wit hadinstalled universals), full set of Brembo roters with ceramic pads, and a bunch of elbow grease later and this ride is comming around.
I have a split CV boot on the passenger side so that is next on my list of have-to-do items then we start having fun. Oh yeah...I also installed the euro style side marker lights. This is the most fun I have had with a car since I was in high school tuning hot rods. |
