Greetings from Spain !

Hello !

My name is Diego and i'm new to the Volvo world.

My previous car was a 1999 ford focus. It was my first car and I loved it but after almost 20 years of good services, it slowly asked to be retired. I was also ready for a different kind of car, something more solid, bigger and more powerful. I travel a lot to see my parents and the focus was a bit too rough for long journeys. I also wanted more safety features (like something as simple as TC and ABS).
I looked for many types of cars and in the end I found an ad for a 2002 Volvo s80. I read a lot about it and it seemed liked it fitted what I wanted. Comfort, style and durability of the engine.
My old focus required too much to be fixed and it felt like throwing money away since the gearbox and engine were on their way out. It had done 220k Km and that was it's limit. According to forums, opinions and my mechanic, the Volvo I wanted was technically a "million km engine". So I went to see it, fell in love with it and bought it. Amusingly, it was my own Valentines present since I bought it on the 14 of February.
It needed some cleaning since the interior was beige, a little tune up (filters, oil and such) and a minor fix for an oil leak (a simple plastic thing fell out at that was it). I also spent some money on fixing dents to give it a fresh look. I was in love and still am. Some... less funny things happened afterwards, I will have to take a look to see if I can find a solution or start a new thread.

I am pleased to join this community and I hope that my volvo lasts another 15 years.... unless new environmental laws kick in and they deem illegal to use a car that does 18L/100km in the city (or 13mpg.... i think this is another issue...)
