Hello
I am new here (as of March 2013) and I only posted once or twice back then. Thanks for your insight into my car's problems. Having major issues and yes I'm female so cannot fix a lot of this stuff myself even though I have been known to get grease on my hands and under my fingernails, lol. My Volvo is a 1996 wagon 850 (non turbo). On the way to work this a.m. it was practically driving itself meaning it wouldn't slow down! I got kinda scared and figure the tranny hadn't warmed up enough or it's a shift sensor of some sort? It has 305,000 on it and runs very strong otherwise. I have taken good care of her over the past 14 years but I know she will need work if I continue to drive it. Can I drive it? Kind of scared to go home w/it acting this way. BTW, I absolutely LOVE this car and need her for the winter. I live in MN !!!

While driving it home the abs light and tracks off light came on on the dash. I know the brakes had 40% life on them last checked but now this...also, i had the oil changed today and all fluids looked fine, no leaks.

Did you have cruise control activated at the time?
Might be a sticky throttle. Check cable, linkages etc. Maybe a clean of your throttle body may fix it. Posts with instructions are in the forum archives. |
