Tomorrow im driving up to minnesota to test drive and hopefully buy a 2005 Volvo S40 T5, it looks amazing, but I have one question. What type of gas can it take? I'm almost 90% sure that it can take unleaded, but is it restricted to premium? Please help me n thank you

No, but be care with the mixtures you do get that are below 91 octane.

Default Welcome to the club

Greetings.

You can try 87. The ECU (on-board engine control computer) automatically adjusts the engine operations to different octane ratings. If, however, light knocking/pinging is noticed, switch to whatever the octane rating is recommended by the mfg.
