Hi Guys!
First time poster, I hate making my first post in a forum, a question, but I am in need of some eductaed advice from you fine gentlemen...
I own a 1998 Volvo 440, recently I have noticed when I start the car it idles very high till the engine warms up a little bit, as the engine warms up the idle revs come down significantly. Any chance you guys know what component on the engine controls this? I am thinking of headed out to the wreckers and trying to pick up the replacement part but I simply have no idea what part is doing this.. Thanks in advance for your help! |
Welcome to the forum. :) When it was a carburated engine it was the choke. Since these engines are fuel injected it couldn't be that because the idle is controlled by the computer.

Welcome to the Forum. I would check of vacuum leaks to. If a seal is leaking air into the system, when the engine gets warm, it may seal back up which would allow the idle to drop.
