New to the Volvo forum but not new to vehicle forums.
 

I am new to owning a Volvo. I purchased a 1998 S70 for $200 at the end of May. The car was in very great shape. The previous owner had gotten a new vehicle and were going to sell it to a junk yard. My brother informed them that they would only be given about $200 for it there. So instead they offered it to me for that price. I decided that I could not pass it up as it was in really good shape.

Shortly after buying the car the factory head unit started acting weird. The display stopped working so I could not see what stations, disc, or track I was listening to. I thought oh well it still works. Well a couple weeks later it just died completely. So I broke down and replaced it with a double din touch screen (Radio, DVD, Satellite radio, A/V in & Bluetooth (works with my phone and MP3 player)). Then shortly before winter hit the blower motor on it died.

I had to replace the door marker lights on the front doors as the latches had broken on both and part of the red lens on the other so they were just hanging.

I have uploaded a few pictures in my Garage of the car and radio for those that are interested in looking.

My other vehicles that I own are a 1982 Chevy 6.2L Diesel, a 1989 Toyota VanWagon, and a 1996 Yamaha FZR600(crotch rocket for those who don't know). I will post pics of them in the Garage later.

Is your car turbo?

I bought it from a family that kept it maintained and non turbo. I have also seen all of those videos I also research into depth any car that I buy. I have also graduated from a tech school with my automotive degree. I just ended up not doing that as a career and am instead working at a Machine Shop.
