Hey there
Im new to the forum and am looking to get some info about buying my first Volvo. Currently I live in Minnesota and want to upgrade the wifes Subaru Forester as we have outgrown it. I have been looking at the XC90 for a couple of years now and have heard great things about the V8.

As i stated I just joined and haven't"lurked" around at all. If anyone has some advice on what to look for and what to stay away from that would be great.

Thanks

Welcome !,

I suggest looking at a few cars and find a couple that interest you with a right price. Then search the appropriate forum for past issues and post asking for advice there.

The help and advice available on these forums is second to none and has helped me keep my wifes 94' 850 T5 on the road.

Whatever Volvo you purchase certainly will not be your last and it has become sort of an addiction. I find myself searching the paper and Ebay to find the next addition to the family.

Having been a VW owner for 18 years the second I drove the 850 I knew I will never buy another VW

Thanks for the welcome guys. I sit on a couple of Impala SS forums and that has been my hobby for the past 11 years. It was a DD now it’smore of a garage queen with gas prices the way they are. It helps keep the mileage off it though.

I first saw the XC90 at the auto show and being a fan of V8s I liked the new offering. I have always wanted a Turbo car but what my family needs and what I want are 2 different things. So I would be taking my XC90 off road a couple times a year for hunting and camping. Mostly it would be the wife’s car for daily commute in Minnesota’s snowy and icy roads with our 2 boys, so safety is number one for me.
