Volvo Forums - Volvo Enthusiasts Forum - Old Volvo owner new to VF!

Hello all,

I'm a 43 year old man that's been driving Volvos since I was 14. My dad bought a 1976 264GL back in 1978. In my small town, there wereessentially were no Volvos. So when I almost came of age to drive, I enjoyed driving that Volvo more than my first car which was a 1966 Mustang.

When I pulled up in theVolvo for the first time in the usual hang out spots, it was like a spaceship had landed. That was a great car except for that 2.7 V6. It was slow (95 top speed), got lousy gas mileage, but the car was solid. Never left me stranded. Eventually, that car would save my life in a horrendous crash during my college years. Next I had a series of 240GLT's and then a 245GLT. That 245 I bought from a kid in Nashville. He had modded it quite a bit and I became hooked on wagons. I moved to the Memphis area and began to work at a local Volvo Dealership and bought my next wagon a '94 850 Turbo...black on black. Great car! Fast, economical, dependable. My current Volvo is a '96 Platinum Wagon with black leather. Searched for two years to find this car. Bought it sight unseen out of Richmond Virginia. I'm the second owner.

So there it is to date. Sorry to ramble on so.
