Should it be this sluggish
 

Hi, I've just bought a 2006 C70 2.4 manual, to replace a Mercedes C270 CDI.
The Volvo is very smooth & quiet compared to the Merc diesel (& so it should be😳), however, although I'm not expecting the Volvo to have as much pull as the Merc, it seems pretty gutless, having to drop a gear or two to get up hills on 60mph roads. Both cars have 170bhp, although the Merc has much more torque, but the Volvo pulls very poorly for a 2.4. Is this normal, or could I have a problem?

Having only bought the car yesterday, I've just gone round it checking the usual levels etc, all the tyres were at around 23psi :eek:, this wouldn't help the sluggish feel, so now correctly inflated I'm off for a drive to York today, hopefully she will fell more like I expected her to:).
