Finally did the BOV mod!

6 Attachment(s)
Over the weekend I installed an HKS SSQV BOV on my 2005 S60 R!
I cut into the turbo piping right before it goes into the intake! Then I installed a straight piece of steel tubing with HKS flange welded on (and BOV installed of course).
At first I came off the Intake where the CBV Vac. line was, and installed a 2 inch piece of vacuum line with a Y tube, from there I connected the CBV vacuum line and a Vacuum line from the HKS to the Y-tube!

The car ran fine!!!!! No check engine light or stalling or anyhting! Just an amazing ppsssshhhhh sound!!!!!!!!!
But to push a little further I wondered if it would throw any check engine lights or codes if I disconected the CBV completely and just ran the HKS?!?!?!

To my suprise no codes and the car still runs fine with the HKS only (and it sounds alot better). As soon as my warranty is up I am removing the CBV completely and installing the blanking plate I got from Forge!

Just a word of CAUTION use strong hose clamps or T-clamps if you can get them!
The IC piping is under alot of pressure at full boost and if you do not clamp your fittings right it will come apart and the car WILL NOT RUN : (

Preferably I would have rather welded the flange directly to my IC pipe and may do that once my warranty is up!

As far as warranty work! I can have the blow of valve removed and a straight pipe installed and all back together in about 30 - 45 minutes!

As soon as I can find T-Clams I plan on removing the hose clamps and intalling them!

All said and done I am 100% satisfied with this mod and would do it again in a heart beat!

the T-clamps are the ****!!!!
You can really crank down on them and they wont strip as easy as the hose clamps!

why did u run a line to the cbv? cant you just do a blanking plate and run a vac line from the vac tree on the intake manifold to the bov?
