Looking for a mechanic or shop in Rhode Island for my '79 242....
Hi All,
As the title says, I'm in Rhode Island and have had a '79 242 for 15 or so years. For several of those years it has been in storage. However, I recently dusted the cobwebs off and have really been enjoying it again. I have a great relationship with a local mechanic who specializes on antique cars and motorcycles. He's absolutely brilliant but runs a one man shop and has a tremendous backlog of project cars and clients.
I'm interested in hearing if there are any other resources in the area with expertise with this vintage, model and familiarity with the systems, common challenges and solutions for old 240's. What I would like to do is have someone go through it and basically have a discussion about how to plan for the future. Any recommendations are welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Greg

Hi
I realize this is an older thread but I’m visiting in RI and just got an oddity in my 2004 v70 that mimicked a 100a and 140a error it had a week ago. Ended up a vacuum connector fixed by my shop at home. But I’m not home! If you can share the name of your Volvo tech, I would so appreciate it.
thanks
