Did you guys know that you can text to an e-mail address?

Not sure how many of you guys know this but you can send a text message from your phone to an e-mail address. Just enter the e-mail address in the line where the phone number would go and the message will go to the e-mail account. I do it ALL THE TIME to send pictures from my phone to my computer when I'm to lazy to hook the phone up to the computer.

You can also send a message (e-mail) from an e-mail account to a phone via text message. Just enter the carrier's proper string and it will send. For example, Verizon uses thephonenumber@vtext.com. Put that in the "TO" address in the e-mail message and it will send the message to that phone. My wife does it all the time to text me shopping list (I don't do e-mail on my phone unless I have to). Works both ways. If you do NOT know the carrier's string, you can send a text from the phone to your e-mail account and look at the FROM address and it will tell you how to send a message the other way. Once upon a time phones would only accept 160 characters so it would cut off longer messages. From there they would take longer messages but the order of the longer messages would come into the phone all mixed up, 160 characters at a time. Lately, at least with my driod, the extended messages arrive in correct order where I can just read down the message.

There is also a way to send messages from your phone to your facebook account (or other people's facebook page). All you need is there facebook remote upload address and you can text messages to it with pictures. I've done it to upload photos to my facebook page, the down side of it is that it shows the phone number that it came from.

So, there you have it, my tech tip for the day.
