Interviewing for Volvo service advisor.

Hey all,

Was wondering if there are any Service advisors that work for Volvo lurking this forum. I'm going in for an interview Thursday. Any advice on interview tactics would be much appreciated. I know my way around a car and have tons of experience in customer service and sales but no dealership experience.

Thanks in advance

I don't work for Volvo, but it would probably be good to learn the company's history, and what cars they have produced in the last ~20 years.

thanks for the response. Volvo has been in our family since 1974. My Parents have literally driven nothing since. my fav so far is the XC60 T6 that my dad drives. 2nd fav was the C70 convertible that had to much power for my step mom.

But ya still studying up on all the diff models. I actually learned to drive on an auto 850, but i drive a 06 Honda Civic si now.

Interview went well, going back Monday for round 2. Anybody know how much these guys pull in a year? I find a pretty broad range when i search for it online.

Any info is much appreciated.

What position are you interviewing for?

Better check your morals at the door. Be a good salesman, and an even better liar. Service advisers are thieves.
Just my opinion. We all have to make a living though. Good luck with the job!

No flames intended, but I have had good experience with service. Think it depends on the shop. As an example, I took my 98 v70 awd in couple years ago with 150k miles and said to go over it and tell me anything it needs. That was an engraved invitation to come up with something. They came back with "nothing" and said it was in remarkable condition. Didn't even charge me. With the cad escalade and jag xjr, I did have bad experiences.

Thanks for the responses guys. When I went in for the initial interview they were telling me that the advisor dosent get straight commission on what they sell, instead the comparing payout is based on a total of what the dep sells. So if the dep sells 80k in parts a month then we ALL would get a cut of that. Will find out more details Monday.

If anybody works for Volvo feel free to chime in.
