KBB vs Edmunds

Curious to know how come such a big difference between the two when it comes to prices. I am thinking of trading my 2004 XC70 in, and KBB has it listed for 2800 avg price where Edmunds has it listed for 1800. How can one be so low compared to the other. By the way, it is in excellent condition inside and out, but does have 252000 miles. The killer on Edmunds.
I am looking to buy a 2004 C70, and Edmunds had the retail price by Dealer dead on, so I am starting to think, that's what this dealership must use for pricing trade ins? The good thing is, that if they do use Edmunds, then the trade in price is also low for this C70.

Thanks

You'll probably find that KBB reads high, and as such no dealer really uses it. It's an over priced guide. Edmunds is probably closer to real world values. Try using NADA as well.

I used a combination of the three to try and get an idea of where to set my asking price when I sold my last car.
