A large Bass in a drainage ditch...

I walk around my neighborhood, 3 miles per day. On one of the four routes I take, there is a drainage ditch that has a lot of rocks and one spot close to the road that has a little hole in it about 200 gallons large and a deep spot in it about 2 feet deep. The rest of the are around the drainage ditch is very shallow, my guess less than 8 inches for 20 yards either direction.

The ditch is full of very small brim and guppies. In this little hole I see what looks to be a bass. So after several weeks I grab my pole and walk over to the hole, toss a rubber worm in there and WHAM this bass hits this thing like it hasn't eaten in days.

I pull out this bass that is over a pound and a lot bigger than I thought. I'm puzzeled as to how this fish got there. There is a golf course about 3 blocks away that has a pond there. My guess is that the thing washed out of that pond during a heavy rain when it was real small and now it has grown and stays in that hole even when it rains hard. I'm sure that ditch turns into a rapids after every storm.

Just nuts.
