My 2007 S80 #1: The Walk before The Run.
Hello everyone, new and old.
This is my second car, and it's something. It's a 2007 S80 I6 3.5L. it's comfortable, it's fun, and it shows me why a lot of people like Volvo so much.
I got my first car, a 1999 Saturn SL2 back in 2018 from a family friend for dirt cheap, and it was a fun, reliable first car. I ended up selling it for junk a little over a year ago.
Earlier this week I applied for a small loan so I could buy a car that drove me from A to B, and yesterday the bank came back to me with an even smaller counter-offer. $2,000. it's not a lot to work with, but it got me this black S80 for $1,500. and somehow it drives. If I could show you how bad it is under the hood/bonnet, and point out how it's pissing power steering and windshield washer fluid, I would. Maybe that'll be a video for tomorrow, if I have the chance.
There's a lot wrong, so here's a list. everything crossed out is what I've repaired thus far, and I have no doubt that the list will get longer with each mechanic visit, or time I work on it.
As for plans with the S80, I'll be taking it into a local Volvo dealer for the big repairs on 10/19/22. If anyone knows a good Volvo shop in SW Wisconsin, I'd much rather take it there than to a big dealership.
That wraps up the S80 for now. until it's fully repaired, I won't be pushing it hard. I want it to last as long as it can. I do need a better name for it. Right now I'm settled on Oppenheimer.
Thank you for reading, and all advice is welcome,

Oil Maintenance(was overdue by 6,000 miles.)Brake LightWindshield wipers- Power Steering Pump (leak and high-pitched wailing)
- Transmission leak (shifts a little rough, tells me to slow down @ 4k RPM.)
- A/C (Possibly Condenser)
- Rearview Mirror (all scuffed up)
- Check Engine Light (Need the codes.)
- External Driver Side Door Handle (Doesn't open)
- Fix External start (Previous owner had best buy install, doesn't work.)
- Clear up headlights
- Replace radio with something newer. (6 disk changer is nice, but I like my bluetooth/aux in)
- Replace rear bumper (big dent)
- Buff and Polish
- Replace Interior (Almost everything is cracked, or stained, plus it's the (imo) nice black ext. with an ugly cream int.)
