RE: Recent Purchases (Car, Etc...)
Kanji,
What types ( and brands) of paint did you use on your models?
Do you have any pictures of your models- I think everyone would
like to see what you do in your "spare" time. :-)
How do you find time to do all this??
Sorry, didn't mean to divert this thread.
Best regards, John

RE: Recent Purchases (Car, Etc...)
Hi John,
I generally use Tamiya's acrylic paints, as I can wash the brush in water, whereas enamel paints require paint thinner to clean the brush. But enamels seem to give better shine, especially for metallic colours.
As to pics, I'll see if I can make a photo album with my (plastic) machines.

Being single, may be.

RE: Recent Purchases (Car, Etc...)
I just received a light bulb with the socket from www.eEuroparts.com that was $8 with $6 for shipping!
That was still a dollar cheaper than getting it from the local Volvo stealership and the other parts places didn't have it. Oh well...

Oh and to stay on topic, I bought a $2 personal pizza at my work cafeteria, followed by $0.35 for a pack of gum to rid my breath of the smell of said pizza.

True Story:
1. A co-worker (back-stabber[8D]) who is8 years old younger than I am kept harassing me verbally.
2. My attention was diverted.
3. As a result, after servicing a Pratt & Whitney engine, I left the tool on the ladder. Immediately went back to the spot and it was gone.
4. Welcome to J@p@n[8D].
BTW:
1. Ice cream.
2. Ice cream.

RE: Recent Purchases (Car, Etc...)
That is frustrating. During my college days I worked in a factory for a large snack food (potato chip) company as a machine operator. When I left they took my toolbox which included ~$50 worth of my own tools. I really miss the ratcheting wrenches (like these: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=90008). I've just never spent the money for some new ones.
Anyway to stay on track, I bought 8 new rechargeable AA batteries for about $36 for our digital camera (so that I can take more pictures of my car repairs and my wife can take pictures of our son, flowers, etc). The last set lasted for about four years and they are finally dying. Hopefully these last just as long.

1. Porsche Roadster (Tamiya, approx $28 US$ + paints)
2.Mercedes something (very long nose coupe that may be housing a V-12, Tamiya, approx US$28 + paints)
3. Toyota Supra (Tamiya, approx US$14 + paints)
4. Boeing 777-300 (Hasegawa), approx US$15 + paints
5. Boeing 777-200 (Hasegawa), approx US$15 + paints
6. Boeing 767-300 (Hasegawa), approx US$14 + paints
I may also buy a 1/4" Gearwrench for approx US$9.
