Roof liner material - Saturn

I'm trying to get this Saturn in shape. Starting to think it's not worth it. Anyway, I pulled the roof liner today and when I started pulling the material off of it, the base appears to be insulation. Am I going to be able to get some material to stick to this or am I going to have to get a new complete liner?

Also, where does one get roof liner material?

No play so I decided to try to get some new material to stick.

I could not find a material store that sells the stuff so the guy at the upholstery repair place was kind enough to order me some and sold it to me. $18 per yard so I got 2 yards. Purchased the 3M spray glue at O'Reily's, not the heavy duty stuff, that was another $32 for 2 cans. So, I'm $70 into it and the guy at the upholstery place said he would install the material on the liner for $75. I guess that was a good deal.

I'll try to get it on tomorrow morning. Maybe I'll use 1 can and return the other can.

Done with the roof liner. Was able to get by with 1 can of 3M spray glue. The stuff came out of the can like crazy string. Rolled the liner out like the youtube video I watched but I got some slight ripples inthe liner. Not sure if they will smooth out in a few days or not. I also got 1 crease about 4" long. 300 Times better than NO liner but if I were planning to keep the car for a long time, I think I would leave it up to the pro's next time. I saved about $20 applying the material myself and about $70 total.

Hey, thanks for this write up. My step son also needs a new headliner in his....Saturn!

I'll post my instructions later. I'll also link the you tube video.

If I had it to do over again, I would not do it by myself. I would have someone hold the material while I press it to the backing. I think it would have reduced my chances to get those small waves.
