Why the heck does my Volvo smell like Crayons?
:confused: Did they soak the Vents with crayon or something?

Maybe it's a coolant smell? Check the carpet under your heater box (passenger footwell, under the dash), if it's wet for no apparent reason, it's time to get your tools out.

Relax. It's just the smell of the adhesive that was used in some European cars. My '03 BMW still smells strongly of the same thing, but it's only got about 55,000 miles, while my '01 V70 T5 has 221,000 miles and the smell has faded to where it's barely noticeable.
Just think of it as "the smell of quality". :D |
Mine too.
It's fine with me but wife hates it.

My 99' Mercedes e320 is the same way. Some say it's adhesive that was used or that the padding for insulation/sound are possible causes.
