1997 Volvo 850 GLT- NJ/NY Area- 165K Miles- For Sale $2K
Hey Everyone,
I live in NJ, near NY though. About 5 minutes from the GWB.
I am looking to sell my 1997 850 GLT sedan. It has approximately 165K miles on it. Overall it is in very good shape, and I really love the car, but unfortunately it is no longer needed.
Front and rear brakes were both done in the past year or so, and have less than 10K miles on them. PCV system got done less than a year/5K miles ago. Tires are also within the past 2 years.
The "issue" with the car is that there is an oil leak near the timing belt. The timing belt itself is in fine shape (had everything checked by a Volvo mechanic in NJ), however, if the leak continues, it will cause the belt to wear quicker. My mechanic estimated it has another 10K or so miles before it would be an issue, but the leak needs to get done at some point. While you are there, may as well replace the timing/serpentine belts and the water pump, since the labor to do that job will already be done to fix the leak.
Other than the above mentioned leak, the car runs great. Engine and transmission are in good shape, and I have been using high mileage synthetic 10W-30. I love driving it, and want to sell it to someone who plans on keeping it going for a while, hence posting it on a Volvo site and not on craigslist.
Asking for $2,000. Please PM me if you are interested.
Thanks,
Gavriel
