FS Volvo Penta B16? engine
Hello everyone, I don't usually join forums to sell stuff but this is kind of an extenuating circumstance and I don't know what other direction to go - haven't had any luck on Craigslist. Anyway I am not really a Volvo guy and have an extra engine that I'm hoping someone, somewhere can use.
I believe that this is a B16 engine and it came out of a boat that was made in the early 1960's. I got it from my neighbor who "parked" the boat 5-6 years ago when he moved from another state. It was running at that point and was winterized and the boat was covered up. Several years of storms and wind trashed the cover and the boat rotted out and was beyond repair. The neighbor was going to take the boat to the dump but they would not take it with an engine in it... so I got it in trade for removing it, since I can't pass up the opportunity to gather more obscure junk.
It is complete except for a broken distributor cap. Turns over. I drained the oil to check for water and there was none. The engine did have a cover over it while it was parked so it was essentially out of the elements. As I understand, these can be converted to be used in a car.
I have no idea what these are worth - if you're interested, please PM me and we'll figure out something fair for both of us.
Location is Rapid City, SD. I am definitely open to local pickup, and can put it on a pallet and ship it via truck freight if needed.
