Hello,

I am new to this forum. I live in Idianapolis, IN.

I bought my 240DL, new, in 1990. We garaged it for three years, for our son, and he has driven it for about 5/6 years. Currently, it has 164k miles on it.

I am trying to decide to keep or sell as our son is a junior in college and needs a car he can drive without sorting about it. It is a good "around town/fall winter" vehicle.

The AC has quit, the brake light/rear lights are sketchy, the windshield now leaks onto the fuse panel when it rains, much of the , tan/gold, interior plastic disintegrates to the touch, the head lights quit - sometime and only the upper beam works, the windshield wipers do not work and the driver's seat, the second one, appears to have had a 500 lb person sitting in it for extended trips. (it has not)

So, are these things normal maladies for the 240? I do love the car but have found it impossible to get parts any more. Is it worth selling for parts?

I am not able to do any major work on the 240 myself. I can change hoses and fiddle with finding the leaks, etc, but that is about all.

Any help or words of wisdom are appreciated.
