I am selling my 2000 4-door Volvo V70 XC AWD SE Automatic Wagon. It only has 81,360 miles logged. It's clean and the body and interior are in great condition - I only used it to drive to work in SF and back. I no longer need a car any more and it needs some repairs, so I want to sell it. This would be an good flip for someone who knew how to work on cars.

Kelley Blue Book lists the value of the car as $6,428. As it does need some work, I'm only asking $4,800 OBO.

FYI...you don't have it priced appropriately for a "flip". It could end up needing a rebuilt transmission for roughly $1500 and a tire for $150, and when you are done it is still soon 15 years old. Plus whoever is going to roll the dice has significant labor involved and possibly other work to do to ensure it is fully road worthy. Has the timing belt been changed? It is well over due by time if it has not. The Blue Book price is full dealer retail. Generally not a realistic number for selling on craigslist. $4800 is probably a good target finished product price, so in order for a flip to be attractive you need to price it at about $2500 or less. Browse craigslist and you will find a decent selection of similar cars that don't need work for $4300 -5500 with only slightly more miles and a year or two newer.
