2004 Volvo V40 for sale
We have a 2004 Volvo V40 LSE (Royal Blue) with 143K miles. The last 1.5-2
years, it's had a few problems, but the Volvo service can't figure
out what the EVAP code is for (smoke test yesterday revealed
nothing, no leaks) and apart from higher than average oil
consumption, it seems good to go. 10-CD changer. Roof rack and cross
rails. 9 month-old tires. Original owner, have all records. Body and interior in great
shape for its age. Blue book is about 4K for this car....is $2,200
to 2,500 a fair price?? Not sure if this is correct way
to post a "for sale." Any help appreciated!

Thanks--Can't figure out if this is just a mid-life crisis. We are in Columbia, MD.
This is a 2004 LSE, 144,000 miles. AT with low, 3rd and 4th gear (is that called "techtronic"??), royal blue, leather interior, X'rails, roof rack, 10 CD-changer, with tires about 8 months old. Pics to follow. It is a very nice looking car, especially for its age. We are the original owners
In the past 18 months, we have replaced the hub, the timing belt, a sensor (will check for specifics), the gas cap, the brakes, the fuel pressure guage and the manifold plate....most of this has been because the check engine light keeps coming on.
Lately--it's using a fair amount of oil. We're going to go off the synthetic and use Lucas Oil stabilizer for the next oil change. Probably 1/4 to 1/2 quart weekly in normal driving. We're also getting an EVAP Code error. Volvo service gave it a thorough 2nd look for us, smoke tested...and like our normal mechanic, can not find anything wrong. The light came back on less than 1 mile after we left the dealership!
Any ideas? We're getting low-balled from CarMax, et al, and I'd like to get 2K-2500 for the car. Is that reasonable. Any ideas on getting the *(*&&^&^ CE Light to go off permanently, so we can sell the car?

Hi there--Put out an ad/offer and a request for feedback/opinions. Car is still available...I'm really just trying to determine A) What might be causing our mystery Evap code for the check engine light--AND how to get rid of it, and B) What would be a fair price for this car--a 2004 V40 LSE in great shape cosmetically with 144k Miles that has had some maintenance issues over the past 2 years. RSVP...it would be appreciated.
