For Sale: Volvo 740/940 OEM Rear Air Leveling Kit NEW
Found this in our storage -- a brand new, never installed, OEM Volvo rear air leveling kit for Volvo 740 and 940, sedan or wagon.
Had great intentions to install it on our (then) 1988 740 Turbo wagon but never got around to it...
Kit consists of two rear shock absorbers with integrated air sleeves, air lines, protective sleeves, mounting clips and fittings, air fill valve + pressure gauge unit, and detailed installation and operation instructions. The kit is about 30 years old and I'm not sure about the shelf life of the air sleeves, but at minimum the damping function should be good, per original Volvo tuning...
Have no idea about the value so will accept the best offer within the next couple-three weeks before I reluctantly toss this in the trash.
Will be shipped from (or available for local pickup near) Greenville SC.
Bump (pun intended) and Clarification: New Shocks + Manual Ride Height Control
Well... I forgot or did not have the heart to toss this rare kit away, so it is still available...
Clarification: These rear shocks do not require air pressure or any additional items installed for them to work as any regular new shocks.
The manual ride height adjustment is an added option if you choose also to install the lines and valve. Aimed for heavy loads or towing especially with our wagons.
Air pressure (and hence ride height) adjustment is done manually with the car stationary, same as adjusting air pressure in your tires (if you install the lines and valve). You can raise or lower the rear of the car by pumping or releasing air through a regular schraeder valve that you would install in the engine compartment.
I would kill to have such a system in my V70 but the shocks are different....
Again, due to age I cannot guarantee the performance of the air sleeves, but the shock absorbers themselves should work fine.
Therefore I will also sell the shocks on their own and keep the rest (lines and valve) for a possible future project.
Name your price. Buyer pays shipping.
Thanks!!!
