I recently got a Strut brace (Thanks Alex!!)
It looked like this when I received it.

After realizing that someone had painted it to hide rust before using it then selling it.

I decided to redo it.
So first I sandblasted the legs from it.

Then stripped the paint on the bar.

Then the feet primed and ready for paint.

Now they are sitting in the garage drying. Later a few coats of clear and the final dry.

Tomorrow I will polish the bar up good and put it back together and hopefully get it mounted on the car.

Once it is on the car I will post more pics of it.

The bar is going to be polished. I did not like it black like it was and stripped the paint.

I polished it myself.
I would stay away from a RIP setup.

i searched and found nothing on the rip kit. could you esplain why it's not a good idea?

i like it cause it would be different and i think it would open up some of the cluttered space on the driver side.

The stock setup after the recall is better at keeping oil out of the engine, burning it at least. Although the RIP system is shorter, it does have it's cons. It does put a little bit more oil into the system and you'll burn it.

Also in colder climates in the winter the condensation in the pipes will freeze causing a no start issue.
That is why Volvo changed the design back in 94.
