Look at this engine bay...

I really hate this dude. I don't think my engine bay will ever look this good.

LOL I should have done that when I had the motor out of mine. But I did not have enough time to do it.

matt01 Mar 28, 2011 06:02 PM

what did he do besides black out the manifold and that part under the volvo plastic cover?
and the carbon fiber tape?

rspi Mar 28, 2011 07:55 PM

Looks like a lot to me. The power steering tank has cf on it, the valve cover, intake is black, head is black, almost everything in there is black, including the fuel lines. You can look at the next few pics to see more. It even has a battery cover.

It's not hard to make it look like this. Take 10-15 minutes everynight for 2 weeks straight. A little WD-40 and/or spray degreaser and some elbow grease and it will look good! I'll post a picture of mine. Yes I do not have all the Bling Carbon fiber stuff but some nice Satin black paint and a little time and it can look 85% of that engine bay. Try it!!

Mine will take a little more than that. They sprayed some funky clear coat stuff or something like that on mine. I tried a heavy carb cleaner on mine and that would not even take the stuff off.

if you have the money why not buy the stuff i guess..
Eurosport Tuning: Carbon Fiber Throttle Body Cover - 850/S70/V70/C70 94-98
Eurosport Tuning: Carbon Fiber Engine Cover - 850/S70/V70/C70 94-98
and the CF power steering resevoir he put vinyle on it, i'll probably steal his idea..
the rest is just painting..

the only special thing is the battery cover.. again. probably just plastic with the CF vinyle on it

Like I said when I started the post, I'm a hater! Mine will probably never look like that. Thanks for the link. Something to dream about. Looks real slick.

When the tides turn here I may give it a shot. I'd like to get my car back to new like condition and start entering it in some local car shows. That engine is sharp. I have never been to EuroSport's website.

His engine bay does look nice, but damn his wheels are hideous imo, lol

rspi Jun 7, 2011 07:09 AM

Huh? A little WD-40??? I think I'll start a business cleaning up motors.

That car is straight sex. That's exexpat from VS. That's his old car. The wheels are gorgeous. He's basically paved the way for stancing Volvos around here. He currently owns a Jaguar that he put on air ride and has been working on for a while. He does great work. Also puts a carPC in about everything he owns. Doesn't cut corners, that's for sure.

Now thats dirty, but theres lots of commerical cleaners for that kind of stuff. It's really all about how far you want to go with it, and of course, how much you are willing to spend.

You go can go all out, and remove everything, repaint, chrome or clean, or you can simply clean it up with some elbow grease and a bottle of engine shampoo.

rspi Jul 2, 2011 06:32 AM

Na, it'll all clean up with some WD-40. lol

rspi Jul 2, 2011 06:36 AM

What kind of paint would you suggest???

OK, I'm about to take a stab at starting on my engine bay clean up. I'm going to start with painting my tranny since I have it sitting in my garage. Can anyone give me some suggestions on what to paint it with?

I'm going to haul it down to the power washing car was place and blast it real good. Once it dryes. Then first thing in the morning (or on the 4th) I'll paint it. I'm going with black to kinda match what this white 850 did.

High temperature paint like basic engine paint should work just fine.

Very nice! Does anyone know where he got that battery cover from? I'm looking to improve the looks on my own can and have already added a CF engine cover.

KSIMP88 Jul 26, 2011 11:52 PM

All you need is engine brite gel, and patience. Soak the engine in it, use about 3 cans. Wait 15 minutes, hose it off. When it dries, use more of the stuff on the remaining dirt.
