Polishing Compound... Let it dry???
 

I have decided to try to see if my wagon will clean up instead of running straight to the paint shop and I have some polishing compound, I think Turtle makes it. Anyway, the directions say to wipe off the excess before it dries. Does that mean that I should not let any of it dry on the car? I use to put wax on the car and get it off later (while out of the sun in the garage).

I put this polishing compound on and went to take it off about 30 to 60 minutes later and it does NOT want to come off. Should I rub in on and take it right off?

The stuff I use, made by Meguiars, I take off as soon as I finish rubbing it in. To me its easier to get off that way. Plus, it's not a straight polish so there's no need to leave it on.

Looks like that's the best plan. I tried several things and what seems to work best is to remove it before it dries. Rub it on, rub it in, and buff it off before it dries on. Or you will have HELL TO PAY.

Therefore, you have to do small sections at a time. Spots about 2 ft by 2 ft at the largest.
